Workers’ Compensation Specialist
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Workers’ Compensation Specialist to manage employee injury claims and safety programs with professionalism and care. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive in communication, and adept at balancing compliance requirements with empathy when supporting employees through recovery and return-to-work processes. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
This role is onsite in Whittier, California.
Workers’ Compensation Specialist Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between employees, management, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators.
- Monitor and manage employee return-to-work and modified duty programs in collaboration with HR.
- Maintain accurate OSHA documentation, claim files, and related reports to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Identify trends and safety issues, providing recommendations for injury prevention and ergonomic improvements.
Workers’ Compensation Specialist Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or California Self-Insured Administrator License preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers’ compensation administration and 1 year in benefits administration.
- In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, OSHA standards, FMLA, ADA, and disability regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Compensation: $28-$35/hr. (DOE)
