Senior Software Engineer – FinOps
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join their Cloud FinOps team, responsible for developing tools and automation that enhance visibility into cloud usage and costs. This role blends software engineering with financial operations analytics, driving optimization and efficiency across multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in collaborative, fast-paced settings where precision and innovation intersect.

This role is fully onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation and backend processes to transform and visualize large-scale cloud billing data across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Integrate data from APIs, build reporting pipelines, and enable actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts, architects, finance teams, and other engineers to enhance and evolve internal FinOps reporting tools.
  • Implement CI/CD practices (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) to support continuous deployment and development workflows.
  • Apply coding best practices and conduct peer reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability of all deliverables.
  • Contribute to backlog prioritization and sprint planning sessions by identifying impactful feature opportunities and process improvements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide feedback on development standards and engineering practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, APIs, and automation scripts.
  • Support the continuous evolution of cloud cost management practices through technical innovation and data-driven recommendations.

Senior Software Engineer Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or DevOps-related roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, including experience with large-scale data manipulation and transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating with and developing RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; Azure experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, serverless data processing, and modern data structures.
  • Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, version control (e.g., GitHub), and Agile development frameworks.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical mindset and passion for driving automation, process improvement, and efficiency.

Compensation: Up to $68.67/hr. (DOE)
