Senior Property Tax Accountant
Our client is seeking a Senior Property Tax Accountant to join their tax team. This role will be responsible for the preparation and filing of property tax returns, business licensing, and other compliance duties for all retail locations in the US. This is a hybrid role requiring qualified applicants to commute weekly to offices in Rochester, New York. 

Senior Property Tax Accountant Responsibilities

  • Prepare property tax returns accurately and on time. 
  • Review, monitor, and respond to all taxing jurisdictions’ inquiries regarding property taxes and support audits.
  • Manage property tax obligations including coordinating, tracking, and processing payments.
  • Assist with forecasting property tax liabilities.
  • Review all assessments for accuracy and identify opportunities for cost savings, including appeals.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.

Senior Property Tax Accountant Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in property tax or a similar role.
  • Experience with tax software or property tax software. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to respond tactfully and courteously to issues and concerns.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to research, interpret, and apply technical guidance.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.

Salary: $80k-$90k (DOE)
