Senior IS Program Manager
The Senior Information Services (IS) Program Manager is responsible for managing complex projects that align with organizational strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with business and operational leadership, governance teams, and IS groups to effectively deploy information services and technology.
This is a remote position.
Senior IS Program Manager Responsibilities
Management Functions:
Manage client expectations for timelines and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and gain sponsor approval for project delivery dates.
Oversee portfolio programs with increased complexity and strategic visibility, prioritizing system and regional needs.
Organize and assign activities to multi-functional teams, ensuring task dependencies and schedules are maintained.
Handle scope, risk, and issue management, including documentation, communication, and resolution facilitation.
Create and manage a communication plan with regular program status reports.
Manage stakeholders and multiple project teams within a single program.
Serve as a coach and mentor, particularly for project management staff.
Facilitate customer needs across multiple departments and business lines.
Operational Functions:
Develop root cause analyses and implement process improvement plans.
Maintain all program artifacts.
Identify, document, and deliver workflows contributing to policy and procedure updates as needed.
Prepare and present updates to senior leadership, management, and stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Senior IS Program Manager Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Master’s Degree.
Required: 7 years in Information Services/Information Technology and/or Healthcare Industry.
Required: 7-10 years in project/program management.
Required: 1 year of relevant Project Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) experience (e.g., EMR, Business Applications, M&A, Infrastructure).
Expertise in Project Management methodology and decision-making structures among executive stakeholders.
Skilled in strategic and tactical planning, with the ability to align with organizational priorities.
Superior judgment and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze the implications of decisions.
Advanced leadership skills, with the ability to influence and mentor others.
Excellent group motivation, discipline, and diplomacy skills.
Develop projects within a program that align with organizational strategic plans.
Build support to influence decisions and maintain a balance between business needs and project requirements.
Facilitate strategic planning for the deployment of information technologies and services related to growth and expansion efforts.
This position may oversee teams of 40-75 individuals and requires a proactive approach to program management, ensuring projects support the organization's mission while fostering integration and collaboration across the system.
Salary: $47/hr.-$81/hr. (DOE)
