Senior Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will focus on conveyance systems, sanitary sewer upgrades, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with strict environmental and regulatory standards. The Senior Engineer will serve as a technical expert, project manager, and mentor, while collaborating with utilities, consultants, and regulatory agencies to deliver sustainable water resource solutions.
This role is onsite around the Hillsboro, Oregon area.
Senior Engineer Responsibilities
- Manage the design and implementation of complex wastewater and water conveyance projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee capital improvement projects including sanitary sewer expansion, upgrades, and rehabilitation.
- Serve as a technical resource on integrated water and wastewater resource issues, including regulatory compliance related to discharge standards.
- Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Review engineering studies, plans, and technical reports, and serve as Engineer of Record when appropriate.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and scope, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Support and supervise staff through coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
Senior Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in wastewater conveyance, sanitary sewer systems, or related infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of leading large-scale capital projects.
- Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as CAD, hydraulic modeling, and project management systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across agencies, utilities, and communities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
