Senior Buyer
Our client is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead product assortment strategies and inventory management initiatives across a large network of retail locations. This individual will be instrumental in optimizing seasonal assortments, aligning pricing strategies, and driving performance through consumer-focused merchandising decisions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for footwear and a strong command of retail analytics.

This role is onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Senior Buyer Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute seasonal strategies to define and optimize footwear assortments for approximately 180 retail locations.
  • Ensure product placement aligns with store performance, inventory depth, and consumer demand trends.
  • Partner closely with planning, allocation, and pricing teams to ensure stores are meeting key retail performance metrics and maintaining healthy inventory flow.
  • Analyze sales, turn, and margin data to identify opportunities for growth, productivity, and profitability.
  • Translate business and consumer insights into actionable merchandising strategies that balance art and science.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and finance partners to deliver aligned business outcomes.
  • Participate in seasonal buy reviews and in-season adjustments to optimize assortment performance.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation) to develop business analyses and reporting tools.

Senior Buyer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in footwear or apparel buying, merchandising, or retail strategy within a multi-store or multi-brand environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven experience leveraging retail metrics such as sell-through, turn, and average unit retail to guide decisions.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to manage large data sets and translate analytics into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated success in developing seasonal merchandising plans and executing assortment strategies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in consumer-driven, fast-paced retail environments; familiarity with large-scale brand or outlet operations is a plus.
  • Prior merchandising experience within the footwear industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Compensation: Up to $32/hr. (DOE)
