Non-Profit Controller
Our mission-driven client seeks an experienced Non-Profit Controller who enjoys streamlining processes and mentoring team members to ensure efficiency in daily accounting functions.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.

Non-Profit Controller Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members ensuring timely and accurate month end close.
  • Review monthly financial reports and prepare forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow and handle grant reporting activities.
  • Lead annual budgeting activities.
  • Manage external audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and efficiencies.

Non-Profit Controller Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting leadership and direct-supervisory experience within a non-profit organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of AP/AR, grant management, revenue recognition, and Single Audit processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based ERP systems (NetSuite, Intacct, or similar a plus) and supporting system implementation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

Salary: $100k-$130k (DOE)
