Merchandise Financial Planner
Our client is seeking a Merchandise Financial Planner (MFP) to join their dynamic team. The MFP will play a critical role in supporting value stores across North America, including clearance stores, employee stores, shopping outlets, and house of innovation stores. This role is responsible for managing revenue and inventory health to achieve financial goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, assortment, and merchandise financial planning, with a focus on inventory management and trend analysis.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Merchandise Financial Planner Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage multi-season fiscal and inventory plans for specific market units, consumer segments, or geographic areas.
  • Create and lead merchandise financial business plans for revenue, margin, and inventory, supporting financial forecasting and inventory forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to align assortment plans with financial targets, ensuring alignment with consumer demand and strategic goals.
  • Analyze data to identify revenue and inventory trends, translating insights into actionable plans.
  • Influence decision-making by balancing top-down financial targets with bottom-up assortment planning.
  • Develop strategies to optimize marketplace inventory health and consumer demand while supporting revenue and margin objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including planning, finance, and merchandising to achieve business outcomes.
  • Prepare and present data-driven insights to stakeholders, using storytelling to communicate key findings and strategic recommendations.
  • Continuously refine planning processes to support financial accuracy and inventory management efficiency.

Merchandise Financial Planner Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in a retail or consumer-driven environment is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, assortment, and merchandise financial planning.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and analyzing revenue and inventory data.
  • Strong understanding of retail metrics such as Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventories, Revenue, and Margin.
  • Experience with Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

Compensation: Up to $38.03/hr. (DOE)
