Human Resources Generalist
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across all facets of HR while taking a lead role in recruiting and talent acquisition. This role is fully onsite in Milwaukie, Oregon.
Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and collaborating with hiring managers to identify top talent.
- Manage new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all new employees.
- Maintain and update HR records and systems, including HRIS databases (UKG/Kronos preferred), personnel files, and compliance documentation.
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing and assist with benefits administration and open enrollment activities.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing inquiries and guiding them through HR-related procedures and policies.
- Partner with HR leadership to support employee relations, investigations, and performance discussions.
- Assist with compliance, policy implementation, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Contribute to strategic HR initiatives, such as safety programs, training efforts, and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) activities.
- Stay informed on evolving employment laws, trends, and HR best practices to ensure compliance and organizational alignment.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and provide occasional employee training on safety topics.
- Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned.
Human Resources Generalist Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in a human resources role, with hands-on recruiting and hiring experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with HRIS systems (UKG/Kronos experience a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred but not required.
Compensation: $25-$30/hr. (DOE)
