Controller
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the full accounting cycle, lead a small team, and partner with leadership on financial strategy and operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, balancing precision in financial management with clear communication and problem-solving skills. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, mentoring others, and contributing broadly across finance, HR, and operations.

This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.

Controller Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate financial reports.
• Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and relationships with external CPAs.
• Oversee A/R, A/P, payroll coordination, and general ledger accuracy.
• Supervise and support an accounting assistant and office manager.
• Administer HR processes including onboarding, benefits, compliance, and insurance programs.

Controller Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Accounting Manager or Controller, preferably in a small to mid-sized business.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA credential is a plus.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise, advanced Excel, and comfort with financial systems.
• Experience managing and developing small teams, with strong communication skills.

Salary: $100k-$120k/year. (DOE)
