Civil / Structural Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Engineer to join their team, supporting the design and analysis of safety-related and non-safety-related structures within a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings expertise with ANSYS, strong knowledge of steel and concrete design, and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
This role is fully remote.
Civil / Structural Engineer Responsibilities
- Perform structural analyses and designs for both safety-related and non-safety-related facilities, with a focus on steel and concrete structures.
- Utilize ANSYS and other design tools to complete finite element modeling, post-processing, and evaluations.
- Prepare and review technical documents including design reports, specifications, and calculation packages.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with requirements.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and lead technical problem-solving efforts as needed.
- Participate in supplier oversight activities by reviewing drawings, studies, and reports for compliance.
- Support quality assurance, safety, and industry compliance standards throughout all project phases.
Civil / Structural Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural design and analysis experience in U.S. commercial nuclear.
- Proficiency with ANSYS required; experience with LS-DYNA, Matlab, or Python is a plus.
- Strong background in concrete and steel design, with knowledge of applicable codes such as ASCE, ACI, IBC, and AISC.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and collaborate across disciplines.
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirements.
Salary: $121K-$146K/year. (DOE)
