Civil / Structural Engineer
Our client is seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer to support the analysis and design of complex structures in both safety-related and non-safety-related environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work across disciplines in a regulated industry.

This role is fully remote.

Civil / Structural Engineer Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analyses and design using industry standards and advanced methods, including finite element modeling for steel, concrete, and foundation systems.
  • Conduct both linear and nonlinear evaluations of structures in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and outside consultants to ensure alignment of design activities and resolve technical challenges.
  • Prepare engineering documentation such as specifications, design reports, calculations, and technical studies.
  • Engage with contractors and regulatory agencies through written reports, presentations, and discussions.
  • Support project execution by maintaining adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to team development by demonstrating problem-solving skills, adaptability, and effective communication.

Civil / Structural Engineer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in structural analysis and design, ideally within nuclear or similarly regulated industries.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ANSYS; exposure to SAP2000 and SASSI is required.
  • Familiarity with key design codes and standards, including ASCE 4, ASCE 7, ASCE 43, ACI 318/349, IBC, and AISC references.
  • Demonstrated expertise in structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, and finite element analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and interact with regulatory bodies.
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 requirements.
  • Programming experience with Python or MATLAB is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing project needs, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for project or client needs.

Salary: $109k-131k/year. (DOE)
