Business Warehouse (BW) Engineer (LE)
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Business Warehouse (BW) Engineer to enhance and modernize their SAP analytics and data warehousing landscape. This role is ideal for a solutions-oriented professional with deep expertise in SAP BW on HANA and related technologies who can lead migrations, optimize reporting, and deliver scalable data solutions. The position requires strong technical fluency, collaborative engagement with stakeholders, and a track record of delivering robust data-driven outcomes.

This role is fully remote.

BW Engineer Responsibilities

• Analyze existing SAP BW on HANA architecture and provide recommendations for migration strategies to SAP S/4 HANA or SAP Datasphere.
• Develop, optimize, and support SAP BW and HANA data objects, including models for SAC Planning, Actuals, Labor, and Unit Cost reporting.
• Design and deliver HANA calculated views, ensuring performance optimization and scalability for advanced analytics.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct impact assessments, and mitigate risks during migration and enhancement projects.
• Create technical documentation, process flows, and operational manuals to support long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer.
• Build and maintain metadata artifacts, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
• Implement automated monitoring and alerting to support performance, data accuracy, and issue resolution.
• Lead migration of BW data flows from legacy systems (3.X) to current standards (7.5) with minimal disruption.
• Evaluate system environments and provide recommendations for migrating objects to modern SAP platforms such as Datasphere or S/4 Real-Time Analytics.

BW Engineer Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering SAP BW on HANA data architecture, ABAP programming, and BPC reporting solutions.
• Hands-on expertise in building HANA calculated views, including integration with Power BI and SAP modules such as CCS, Finance, Work Management, and Supply Chain.
• Proven track record in reducing technical debt and improving maintainability through optimized coding practices.
• Experience in migration initiatives transitioning from BW on HANA to SAP Datasphere.
• At least 3 years of experience with ODP framework, SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) replication, and embedded analytics in SAP Fiori/S/4HANA.
• Strong skills in creating and optimizing S/4HANA CDS views for analytics and real-time reporting.
• Familiarity with SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and related cloud-based data technologies.
• Ability to implement security and authorization controls for analytics solutions, ensuring compliance and data protection.
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments with cross-functional technical teams.
• Proficiency with Power BI visualizations based on HANA views is highly desirable.
