AI Engineer
Our client is seeking a talented AI Engineer to develop and deliver intelligent systems that blend advanced machine learning with robust backend engineering. This role focuses on building scalable, production-ready AI solutions, not just leveraging AI tools, but engineering them from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, can gather requirements independently, and communicates effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

This role is fully remote.

AI Engineer Responsibilities

• Design and implement LLM-based applications, workflows, and agentic systems that can reason, plan, and act in dynamic environments.
• Architect and develop backend services and APIs that integrate with LLM workflows and autonomous agents.
• Build and refine retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, vector databases, and knowledge retrieval systems.
• Develop reliable infrastructure and tooling to support AI-powered applications at scale.
• Apply strong engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and code review.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define requirements, iterate on designs, and ensure successful delivery in ambiguous or evolving environments.
• Leverage AWS and containerized environments for scalable deployment.

AI Engineer Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with backend development and distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience developing AI-powered products or LLM-based systems in production.
• Proficiency in Python; Golang experience in production environments is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Strong understanding of agent architectures, API integrations, and workflow orchestration.
• Proven ability to operate independently, gather and clarify requirements, and deliver results in ambiguous settings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• Expertise in AWS infrastructure and scalable deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with containerization and microservice design.
• Contributions to open-source AI or developer tools.
• Experience working in agile or start-up-style environments.
