Platform Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support the development and operations of a robust, Kubernetes-native platform. This role will play a key part in enabling scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and services. Ideal candidates will bring production-grade Kubernetes expertise beyond deploying applications, with a strong focus on platform reliability, automation, and operational excellence.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Platform Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support foundational platform services with a focus on Kubernetes-native architecture.
• Operate, maintain, and administer Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure in production environments.
• Implement and enhance GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines to support efficient delivery and change management.
• Collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and application teams to support platform adoption and performance.
• Contribute to internal tools, automation, and documentation to improve platform reliability and scalability.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.

Platform Engineer Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering or infrastructure experience in cloud-native environments.
• 2+ years of deep, hands-on experience managing and operating Kubernetes in production.
• Proven expertise in Kubernetes components, cluster lifecycle management, and troubleshooting at scale.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and networking fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred:

• Experience developing Kubernetes controllers or operators.
• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Exposure to Crossplane or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Proficiency in Golang is a plus but not required.
• AWS experience and certifications are beneficial.

Compensation: Up to $70/hr. (DOE)
