Senior Color Developer
Our client is seeking a Senior Color Developer to support seasonal initiatives across our client’s apparel line. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in apparel color development, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to analyze and communicate color data across global teams.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Senior Color Developer Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute seasonal color development and approvals to ensure timely commercialization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design, materials, and product risk—to evaluate color risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Assess color quality through both visual and digital methods, including spectral data analysis.
- Provide guidance to suppliers on color accuracy and feasibility, using both physical and digital tools.
- Support and implement digital color review processes; contribute to innovations in digital color workflows.
- Develop reports and documentation to support quality assurance and process tracking.
- Mentor peers and support onboarding of new team members by sharing color expertise and best practices.
- Work closely with international partners to align on testing standards and address colorfastness issues.
Senior Color Developer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, or a related field preferred; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- 3+ years of experience in apparel color development or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of fabric construction, dye methods, and colorfastness testing.
- Comfortable working with digital color tools and interpreting spectral data.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- Able to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across global teams.
- Must be able to pass a visual acuity test (e.g., Munsell Hue test).
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: Up to $40.67/hr. (DOE)
