Director of Finance and Operations
Our local Portland client, who has over 100 years of service to the community, seeks an experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join their passionate and mission-oriented team. This role offers a growth path to CFO and would be an excellent opportunity for a natural leader who enjoys wearing many hats and being hands-on in daily operations.

Director of Finance and Operations Responsibilities

  • Oversee month end close processes ensuring timely completion.
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare/analyze financial statements and handle annual budget preparations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage endowment funds and handle special tuition arrangements.
  • Monitor departmental spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist payroll service provider in processing payroll.
  • Lead continuous accounting process and facility improvements.

Director of Finance and Operations Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting and operational experience.
  • Exposure to non-profit or similar industry a plus.
  • Tech-savvy with financial systems/reporting software and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Salary: $90k-$100k (DOE)
